 Welcome to the CS Family!

🎉 Welcome to the CS Family!

The CS First Date orientation event, hosted by second-year students of the Computer Science (English Program), was held on August 24, 2019, to warmly welcome the new first-year students (Class of 2019) into the CS@SIT community.

Held annually, CS First Date aims to build meaningful connections among first-year students, while also strengthening bonds between juniors and seniors in the program. This year’s event followed a nostalgic and playful “Arcade Game”theme, bringing back fond memories of childhood for many participants. The event was thoughtfully organized into three main parts:

🧊 Session 1: Ice Breaking Activities

The day kicked off with fun ice-breaking games in the morning, helping new CS students relax, open up, and confidently engage with one another.

🎮 Session 2: Activity Stations

In the afternoon, students were divided into four teams, rotating through four activity stations, each managed by senior students from years 2 to 4. After completing all the stations, the juniors faced a fun challenge:

“Find the Missing Senior” — Using clues provided by the staff, students had to work together to track down a hidden senior. It involved a lot of walking, teamwork, and laughs!

🌾 Session 3: Bai Sri Su Kwan Ceremony

The event concluded in the evening with a warm and heartfelt Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony, prepared by the seniors to officially welcome the freshmen to the CS family. The atmosphere was filled with joy and closeness, as everyone shared kind words and best wishes. Seniors expressed how excited they were to have the new members join the SIT communityand encouraged them to cherish the memories and friendships made during this special day.
