🚀 IoT Hackathon 2025 @ SIT KMUTT: Igniting Innovation to Celebrate 30 Years

     To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the School of Information Technology (SIT), KMUTT, the faculty proudly organized “IoT Hackathon 2025”, an initiative to empower students with essential skills in technology, innovation, and teamwork — particularly in the rising field of Internet of Things (IoT).

     Held under the theme “Hack the IoT to SIT: Transforming SIT through Smart Ideas”, this 10-day hackathon challenged participants to apply IoT in creative ways to improve the campus experience. The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narongrit Waraporn, Dean of SIT, who also served as a judge along with SIT alumni acting as mentors throughout the competition.

📍 Venue: Learning Exchange Building (LX), KMUTT

👥 Participants: 50+ students from all SIT programs — Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), and Digital Service Innovation (DSI)

 

🏆 Winning Projects

🥇 First Prize — Team: Little Snake | Project: “Nong Panya”

     An AI-driven smart medicine dispenser connected to a web system that selects the appropriate medication based on symptoms. The system also supports allergy tracking for enhanced safety.

🥈 First Runner-up — Team: Little Mermaid | Project: “Dumbledoor”

     A smart door access system using QR code scans and faculty email verification, enhancing security and eliminating the need for physical cards.

🥉 Second Runner-up (Tie) — Team: IoT 4 Nor | Project: “IoTSmartCam”

     A web-based platform showing real-time table availability in common areas, with an integrated alert system for lost items.

🥉 Second Runner-up (Tie) — Team: Bottle Separator | Project: “Smart Bottle Sorter”

     An AI-powered bottle sorting machine that rewards users with points for proper recycling.

     This hackathon marks another milestone in SIT’s journey toward becoming a living lab for technology and innovation — nurturing students to become digital-ready graduates prepared for future challenges in the global tech industry.
