Procedures for Submitting a Human Research Ethics Application
Subcommittee on Human Research Ethics (IRB), School of Information Technology
- Complete the IRB Application Form (IRB-Form) and prepare all required documents as specified by the Research, Innovation, and Partnerships Office (RIPO).
- Submit the printed application (1 set), including the project proposal, cover page, and supporting documents, to:
- Ms. Walaiphan Pornwirun
- Or via the Academic Services Office
- Or via Line group: IRB@SIT_IRB Proposal(Available every working day: Monday–Sunday)
- If students, instructors, or researchers require a confirmation of submission prior to IRB approval (e.g., for research funding applications),a submission receipt can be downloaded directly from the system.
Note: This document only confirms the receipt of the application — it is not an approval.
- Extension or Project Closure:
- To extend the duration of a research project or to close a project, submit a progress report and a closure notification via email toirb@sit.kmutt.ac.th to request the appropriate forms.
- After completing the form, submit the original signed document to Ms. Walaiphan Pornwirun, SIT.
- If the applicant delays submission beyond 5 days, they must resubmit a new IRB application.
Roles & Responsibilities
Academic Services Office
- Receive IRB applications from students, instructors, or researchers.
- Organize and forward documents to the IRB Subcommittee Secretariat.
IRB Subcommittee
- The secretariat prepares documents for review at the IRB subcommittee meeting.
- The subcommittee evaluates applications within 1 week of receiving a complete set of documents.
- Approved projects are submitted to the KMUTT Human Research Ethics Committee for final approval.
- The secretariat receives the IRB certificate from KMUTT’s ethics committee and forwards it to the applicant.
