นักศึกษา CS@SIT คว้าทุกรางวัลในการแข่งขัน FOSSASIA Hackathon, powered by ExpressVPN

          Students from the Computer Science (English Program) at the School of Information Technology (SIT), King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), have achieved a remarkable international milestone by sweeping every award at the FOSSASIA Hackathon. The winners were announced on March 10, 2026, during the closing session of the FOSSASIA Summit.

A Challenge of Engineering and System Design. This year’s hackathon moved beyond mere policy debates, focusing instead on deep System Design & Engineering under the theme of “Digital Safety.” Participants were tasked with building solutions that prioritize security and privacy from the ground up (Secure-by-Design). To succeed, projects had to demonstrate technical soundness, practical deployability, and strict adherence to Open Source principles—the core philosophy of FOSSASIA.

The CS@SIT teams showcased exceptional skills in software architecture and complex problem-solving, ultimately securing all major titles in the competition:

🥇 Hackathon Grand Prize (1st Place) – Awarded THB 29,999

• Team Members: Nichapa Jongsakulsiri, Theerawat Patthawee, Nang Hayman Aye Mya, Khin Nadi Ko, Napat Chang-Ekwong, and Yossapan Rujipornprasert.

🥈 Best Privacy by Design – Awarded THB 15,555

• Team Members: Ye Thu and Khin Eaindray Htun.

🥉 Best Open Source Hack – Awarded THB 8,888

• Team Members: Wai Yan Hein Oo and Albert Zaw Sam.

         The submissions were rigorously evaluated by industry experts from ExpressVPN and FOSSASIA. Judging criteria focused on technical
quality, code integrity, and the integration of Responsible Data Practices into system architecture. The clean sweep by the Computer Science (English Program) students highlights the high-level technical competencies and global standards fostered at SIT, KMUTT.
