From the 1st – 4th February 2018, the School of Information Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi were proud to host an academic seminar titled “The Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence (DLAI) Winter School 2018”.The forum was initiated by Prof. Dr. Jonathan Hoyin Chan, Associate Dean for International Relations in collaboration with many international organizations, such as the Asia Pacific Neural Network Society (APNNS), IEEE-CIS Thailand Chapter, INNS Thailand Chapter, The Council of IT Deans of Thailand (CITT), Deep Genomics, and Krungthai Bank PCL.

 

This seminar offered an opportunity for students, faculty members, KMUTT researchers, and other institutions to exchange knowledge on various information technology topics, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. These concepts and principles are currently gaining much attention and can be applied to various fields.

The speakers who participated in this event were experts and experienced in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Deep Learning: Professor Soo Young Lee from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Professor Nikola Kasabov from the Auckland University of Technology, Professor Irwin King from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Simon Fong from the Macau University, Professor Sung-Bae Cho from the Yonsei University Department of Computer Science, and Professor Weng-Kin Lai from JSCI Malaysia. In addition IBM Thailand and Asst.Prof. Dr. Kriengkrai Porkaew from the School of Information Technology, KMUTT conducted a workshop on “IBM Power AI” and “NoSQL”, respectively.
