Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy program in Computer Science aims to produce highly qualified researchers and scholars to international standards. It also aims to create researchers of integrity as clearly stated in the SIT “Five P’s” philosophy: Prompt actions, Punctuality, Professionalism, Perseverance, and Principles and can respond to computer science industry requirements. Moreover, the program aims for the discovery of new insights and academic excellence for national development by emphasizing in-depth research and the use of resources at maximum potential.
Program Objectives
1. To produce productive researchers and scholars in computer science to international standards and promote significant human resources for the betterment of society
2. To conduct original research, develop new technology in computer science, and collaborate academically with leading foreign universities
3. To achieve an academic research excellence, not only within Thailand but also abroad through continuous research development
PhD Admission Requirements
1. The qualifications of PhD applicants according to their plan of study:
Plan 1.1
Hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or others accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) with at least 3.50 out of 4.00 GPA. and have at least 2 years of research work in Computer Science or a related discipline, or else it is at the discretion of the graduate program committee.
Plan 2.1
Hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or others accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) with at least 3.25 out of 4.00 GPA. and/ or have at least 2 years of work experience or research work in Computer Science or a related discipline, or else it is at the discretion of the graduate program committee.
Plan 2.2
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or others accredited by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) with at least 3.50 out of 4.00 GPA. and/ or have at least 2 years of work experience or research work in Computer Science or a related discipline, or else it is at the discretion of the graduate program committee.
2. Satisfy the English requirement as required by the School of Information Technology:
TOEFL ITP ≥ 500, TOEFL iBT ≥ 61, TOEIC ≥ 600, IELTS ≥ 5, or TETET ≥ 4.
3. Have other qualifications according to the KMUTT’s regulations for graduate study.
